South Kitsap Students Enter Workforce at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard

South Kitsap High School graduating seniors signed commitments to begin the internship program at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS).

In partnership with Bangor Trident Refit Facility, five South Kitsap High School graduating seniors received job offers and signed contracts on May 17, 2024. These internships will begin this summer and transition to full time employment. At the signing, the students were notified they would receive a $2,000 signing bonus, a starting wage of $23.17 per hour, and an opportunity to advance to $40 per hour within three years. The hiring managers contact Career Counselors at South Kitsap High School to encourage students to submit resumes for consideration. Selected students move forward for interviews with a team from Bangor and these five students were successful in the process.

Career and Technical Education coursework at South Kitsap High School set these students up for success.
