We’re excited to announce that Abbie Barabe has been selected as the new principal of John Sedgwick Middle School!
Abbie Barabe joins the Sedgwick Generals community with extensive experience in both elementary and middle school leadership. She comes to South Kitsap from Harbor Ridge Middle School in the Peninsula School District, where she served as Assistant Principal and led efforts in positive behavior supports, student services, and staff development. Prior to that, she was principal at Vaughn Elementary and Manitou Park Elementary.
Ms. Barabe is known as a strong instructional leader, a thoughtful collaborator, and someone who brings people together around a shared purpose. She leads with heart, prioritizing students, supporting staff, and building a school community where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Please join us in giving Ms. Barabe a warm welcome to South Kitsap and John Sedgwick. She looks forward to meeting students, families, and staff, and beginning this exciting new chapter at JSMS!
