We are excited to welcome Mr. Ryan Douglas as the next principal of Mullenix Ridge Elementary. He will replace Principal Barbara Pixton who is retiring at the end of this school year. Mr. Douglas comes to South Kitsap after serving seven years as the principal at Cherrydale Primary School in the Steilacoom School District.
His leadership of multi-tiered system of supports resulted in dramatic positive gains in Cherrydale’s early literacy scores. Before moving into an administrative role, Ryan was a special educator in the University Place School District where he developed and led successful special service programs, one for students with severe behavior needs and another to support students with autism.
His experience, skillset, and proven ability to build positive school/community culture make Ryan a wonderful addition to Mullenix Ridge and South Kitsap School District.
