application timeline
The South Kitsap School District Board of Directors conducts regular board meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Board meetings typically last two hours and take 2-3 hours of preparation time to review the packet of action items. Work study sessions are occasionally held to discuss items in more detail. Board representation at special events (dedications and graduations) along with school visits also take a significant amount of time.

Interested applicants must reside in Director District No. 1, which includes Port Orchard, Annapolis, Old Belfair Hwy, and Gorst. The area map and description are available on the district website at or verified by contacting the Kitsap County Auditor’s Office.
