Completing the annual application for Free or Reduced-priced meals can help the district secure additional funding to support students and connect students with discounted fees or community support resources.

The data collected on these forms can help schools receive funding for several state need-based funding programs such as E-Rate and the Learning Assistance Program (LAP). Information collected may also be used to qualify students for additional support and reduced fees. It is critical that parents return the income forms so LEAs can count all eligible students.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Free/Reduced Meals Program allows students to receive free breakfast and lunch at school. Families qualify based on their income and number of people in the household. One form per family must be filled out every year to see if you qualify. By agreeing to share information, your students will qualify for free or reduced school fees like ASB, course fees and sports fees.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ad-3027.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
