Test To Stay Program

South Kitsap School District continues our dedication to helping stop the spread of COVID-19 while keeping our students in class and our schools open for in-person learning. Following the guidelines of the Washington Department of Health and in partnership with Kitsap Public Health District, SKSD is offering the Test to Stay Program.

Through the Test to Stay program, students who are close contacts from a school exposure or an off campus exposure, can continue to attend school during a modified quarantine period by testing multiple times throughout their quarantine. During modified quarantine students may attend school and may participate in extracurricular and community activities.

To provide prompt testing for students who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or are a close contact to someone with COVID-19, Rapid COVID-19 antigen testing is available for staff and students as indicated by the Symptom Flow Chart. Please see "How to Access Testing" below.

Your child may continue to attend class in a modified quarantine for 7 days if they:

  • Test at least twice within the 7-day quarantine, AND
  • Their tests are negative for COVID-19, AND
  • Do not have symptoms of COVID-19, AND
  • Continue to wear a mask.
