READY! FOR KINDERGARTEN®!!

What does South Kitsap's Ready! for Kindergarten program offer our families?

We offer both in-person and virtual options each session, three sessions per year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). All workshops are age-specific, and are offered in 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 groupings.
Virtual workshops are open for one month each session. Once your registration is approved, you have until the end-date to complete the course, then you can choose from two different pick-up dates. You are allowed to sign up for multiple workshops if you have children in different age groups!
In-Person workshops are held one Saturday each session. An adult must be present in each workshop you enroll in for you to recieve the tools for that age-group. You're allowed one additional guest, and free childcare is available for children 13 months to 12 years old! If you have completed a virtual workshop for another child, you can pick up your kit before you leave that day.

Registration for both the In-Person and Virtual Fall workshops opens on:
Monday, October 28, 2024.

Fall, In-Person -  Held on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

*Fall, Virtual - Registration opens on Monday, October 28, 2024, and closes on Friday, November 22, 2024.

*If you have more than one child eligible for READY!, you may consider doing either both in-person workshops, or doing the virtual workshop for one age group and in-person for the other. If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to reach out!

Our Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions each provide different tools and information that build the foundation to get your child READY! for Kindergarten.

Registration will open on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Seating is limited! Reserve your seat as soon as you can once registration opens! Everyone who registers is allowed to bring 1 guest, if desired. Free childcare available on-site for ages 13 months - 12 years old.
These workshops are in addition to the traditional Fall/Winter/Spring Ready! workshops we already offer, and are specifically geared toward children about to enter kindergarten in the next 1-2 years (ages 3-5 years old). Parents are welcome, and encouraged, to take both the SEL and regular Ready! workshops.
The SEL workshops began as, and will remain, in-person only. There will be two options throughout the year to attend. This Fall, we will offer the 3-4, and in the Spring we will offer the 4-5.
Our SEL workshops are structured very similarly to the regular in-person workshops. You are allowed to bring one guest, if you'd like, and free childcare is available for children 13 months to 12 years old.
These workshops are in addition to our Fall/Winter/Spring Ready! workshops, and are intended as another tool to help your child start off confident and secure for their first day of school (and beyond!).

Families/children still must live within South Kitsap School District's boundaries to qualify for these workshops.

*If you are a current READY! parent, please use your current log-in information to register.

Did you know...

From birth to age 5, a child learns faster than at any other time in his or her life. Those early learning experiences influence success in school and beyond. Data shows students who start school ahead, stay ahead. Learn what you can do to nurture a child's development in their earliest  years, preparing their minds for all future learning.

Our READY! parent workshops provide age-appropriate targets and training in the areas of language and literacy, math and reasoning, and social-emotional. Purposeful play and 20 minutes of daily read-aloud make a difference that lasts a lifetime.
