Health Services & Nurses
"Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations" (ANA, 2010a, p.1; ANA,2010b, p.10).
The district employs seven certificated and registered nurses, and three licensed practical nurses to assist our students with health concerns and needs while they are at school. All of our nurses work with both general education students and those receiving special services. The nurses serve on the Health Services Committee that meets once a month to discuss issues that involve student health.
