South Kitsap is a special place...

The South Kitsap School District is located in Kitsap County, along the blue waters of Puget Sound and between the spectacular peaks of the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. Kitsap County is a beautiful place to live and raise a family.

One of its primary attractions is its wonderful quality of life with affordable housing, world-class educational system, endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, restaurants, and shopping.

The hub of the South Kitsap Community and the County seat is located in Port Orchard. This area is one of the fastest growing communities in the state positioned directly between the urban areas of Seattle and Tacoma. It is only 35 minutes by highway to Tacoma and a little over an hour from Seattle by car or ferry. Seattle provides access to sophisticated cultural events, professional sports competitions, corporate centers and markets.

A variety of recreational and educational activities are embraced in the South Kitsap community. Port Orchard offers art galleries, a community theater, regular live music performances, and traditional and ethnic dance performances. Festivals and fairs are scheduled year round for community entertainment and involvement. The county Parks and Recreation Department operates city parks and develops numerous programs to meet the needs of adults and children.
