Professional Development for Certificated and Classified Paraeducators
Log into your ProDev account (Class Link > ProDev) to view course offerings for professional development. Staff who require clock hours (certificated staff and paraeducators) are able to register/unregister for classes, find course information, print class schedules, check para competency and clock hour status, print certificates for courses taken, print clock hour reports, evaluation summaries, transcripts, and can house a list of your Out of District clock hours. Instructions, tutorials and links can be found on the Home tab in your ProDev account.
How to Register, Transcripts, Course Evaluations
- Staff are required pre-register for courses. Preferred method is to register in your ProDev account, but can also be signing for clock hours on the day of training. Complete Course Evaluations once completed (ProDev > My Records > Course Enrollment > Click on the CLIPBOARD )
- Courses must be completed during the Start and End Dates of the course to receive credit.
- Send documentation of completed courses to Tracy Schneewind in Teaching & Learning within 10 days of the Course End date to receive credit. (The Course Info PDF in the Course will list under the credits section if documentation is required).
- Inservice Forms and Out of District clock hours (keep a copy for your own records) should be sent to Tracy Schneewind in Teaching & Learning for processing. Transcripts should be sent to Sarah Conner in HR.
Paras: Connect with Tracy Schneewind for help navigating the coursework required Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) . Information regarding Para Certification Program including the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) and professional Certification requirements can be found at the Professional Educator Standards Board. Paras who have completed their 28 FCS will need to complete 14 clock hours by the end of each school year. Courses should be completed during your normal work hours throughout the year, as time allows. Work with your supervisor to flex your hours to work on your courses.

Attend Professional Development Activity (beyond normal contract hours)
The Deadline to submit a Form 78 is June 1st. Funding is limited and on a first-come, first served basis.

Directions for submission:
- Obtain Proof of attendance – any of the following showing dates and hours:
- Certificate of Attendance
- Conference Brochure
- Clock Hour Forms
- Instructor’s Statement/Signature
- Transcript
- Your Building Administrators Statement/Signature
- Any other form of proof of attendance
- Complete Form 78
- Complete Name and Building on the form.
- Check regular rate of pay.
- Complete the date of the course, description, and total cost. ($300 maximum – members will be notified if there are additional funds available).
- In the Account Code Area – Mark PSE Professional Development
- Sign and Date the form on the line for “Employees Signature.”
- Please attach your proof of attendance to the Form 78.
- Make sure to use the most updated professional development application dated 3/26/31.
Mail these forms to Tracy Hopkins at Orchard Heights
(PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM DIRECTLY TO PAYROLL OR TO PERSONNEL). You will be notified if there are any questions or if additional documentation is needed, or if funds are no longer available.

Professional Development - Clock Hour Offerings:
In-District clock hour options are listed in your ProDev account under Course Registration. Click on the Info PDF next to the register button for information regarding the training. If there is no register button for something you would like to take, email the instructor for permission to take the class or all 360-874-7058.
Some options for (non-SKSD) Out of District Professional Development courses can be found at:

- Washington Education Association (note NEA is not a current approved clock hour provider for Washington State)
- Clock hour and class fees through out of district venues will be at the participant's expense.
