Why Should You Join a Community Group?
988 Crisis Lifeline: If you or someone you know is in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 anytime. Trained counselors are available 24/7 to listen, provide support, and help you stay safe.
Youth Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (YMCOT): For students needing crisis support and connections to services, call 888-910-0416 and ask for YMCOT. This service is available to most students (except those already in the WISe program). They can provide consultations, come to schools or homes, help with safety planning, and offer support for up to 14 days.
Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital: The Emergency Department can provide mental health assessment and treatment if your child is experiencing a mental health crisis. 317 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Tacoma
Seattle Children’s Psychiatric Urgent Care: Same-day mental health support (in person or video) for ages 4-17 who do not need the ER. Open daily, 12–8 p.m. Call 206-987-2164 or visit their website.

Start by calling the number on the back of your insurance card to find in-network providers and check your mental health coverage. Out-of-network care can be expensive, and coverage varies by plan. If you don’t have insurance, contact your school social worker or counselor for help finding resources.

MultiCare Behavioral Health Clinic: In-person counseling in Port Orchard. Call 564-669-5250. Accepts most insurance (not Tricare). Also offers services at some local schools.
Mary Bridge / MultiCare Bridges Program (Tacoma): Supports children 4-18 and families coping with grief or serious illness. Offers programs and a free summer grief camp. Call 253-403-1966
Peninsula Community Health Services (PCHS): Multiple locations and a school-based clinic at Discovery High School. Offers medical, dental, mental health, and substance use services. Call 360-377-3776 or walk in.
Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS): Offers outpatient counseling in Port Orchard or Bremerton. Also has the WISe team, which provides a voluntary, team-based program that provides intensive mental health support for youth and their families. SEVERE WEATHER SHELTER INFORMATION: Call 211. Severe Weather Shelters provide overnight beds for single adults, parents with children, families, and teens in need. Shelters operate during severe weather events between November 1 and March 31 in Kitsap County. Those needing transportation to the closest shelter can call 360-373-3000 to arrange for a ride before 8 p.m.
