Bond Development Process

South Kitsap School District is currently developing a bond for voter consideration in November 2023. The process for finalizing the bond package is thoughtful and relies on feedback from the community, staff, and families The timeline for this process will take several months and is shown to the right.

The Bond Steering Committee's work is the current phase following the Long Range Facility Planning Committee's development of the Facility Rebuilding Plan. The Steering Committee is the engine behind the development of a comprehensive bond to take to the community. They will coordinate community engagement and education about any ballot measure for voter consideration. We are in the early phase of developing a bond and community input is critical.

The assessment phase was conducted by the Long Range Facility Planning Committee and concluded with the development of a thorough recommendation that was delivered to the School Board in April 2022.

The planning phase is currently underway. The Bond Steering Committee is hosting several community engagement events and feedback opportunities. The community is asked to share ideas for districtwide improvements and repairs along with their thoughts on the sites identified as the most urgent for replacement. Several community meetings have already been held and more are coming soon.
