Dear South Kitsap Families,
I am honored to serve as superintendent of this great district. Under the leadership of your School Board and with the support of staff, families, and the community, South Kitsap School District will continue to follow the vision of nurturing growth, inspiring achievement, and building community.
We will honor the past and embrace the future as we continue to meet the needs of our students. There is a lot to be proud of here and the unique opportunities that are available to our students are part of what makes South Kitsap such a special place.
During my time in South Kitsap, I’ve received a warm welcome and I’ve been impressed with the caring and compassionate staff working in all areas of the District. I believe people are the #1 resource we have, and if we take care of the staff, they will provide the best educational experience for every student every day. We have developed a Top 5 Priority Plan that will guide our work over the next five years. It focuses on academics, stewardship, student and staff wellness, safety, and community partnerships.
Education during the COVID-19 pandemic has presented many challenges for students, staff, and families. We are grateful for the partnership, patience and support of the entire community during this difficult time. We are thrilled to welcome students back on campus for full-time, in person instruction for the 2021-2022 school year. Please know that we will continue to follow strict safety practices, monitor the health situation, and always put the health and safety of our students and staff at the forefront of all decision making.
There are exciting things on the horizon and I’m confident South Kitsap will be one of the top five school districts in the state. We will achieve success in all areas through a culture built on valuing people and creating the conditions for success.
Thank you for your partnership and support!
